St. George

Each and every weekend is a new adventure for us. Nick has been traveling a lot for work lately, so when the weekends come we get excited for the adventures we take. Two weekends ago we hiked up to the "Y" which was a blast! We have done this before, but it is such a beautiful view at the top why not take advantage of it, right?

This past weekend, after class on Friday morning, we booked it out of this town to St. George for the weekend. My mom, dad, and two younger sisters came too which was the best!

We played and played all weekend. I could not have thought of a more relaxing and weekend full of laughter and fun. We were missing two of my sisters and there families, and my brother (WHO COMES HOME IN 2 1/2 WEEKS WOO HOO).

The weather was perfect, sunny and warm with a cool breeze. We hung out by the pool and laughed and talked (This is my absolute favorite thing to do with my family). Mattie jumped in the pool as soon as she could, and soon got me in swimming with her!

Us ladies then headed off to do some shopping! We thought we would be back pretty soon, but the boys got lonely without us. WOOPS! Sorry Boys!

Mattie and I at one point were waiting for my mom and Rooga to come out of a store and saw an Asian man taking pictures of the plants in front of the department store! We were laughing so hard!!!!! They were not that pretty yet he was snapping pictures. I tried to get Mattie to take a picture of him taking a picture of the plants, but she couldn't do it because she was laughing to hard.

The following day was filled with a lot more laughing, chatting and good food that mom and I whipped up. We also got in the car and headed off to do some hiking to some beautiful waterfalls. On the way there Mom and Dad stopped and Jacob Hamelin's house and we took a tour that was quite interesting.

Our tour guide was older and kept using really funny and old phrases. I wonder if Mattie and Rooga understood what he was talking about sometimes.

The tour guide got Mattie and I to make Hamhock Dolls.
This is what a Hamhock Doll is.

Right after the tour, we headed off to do a beautiful hike.

Mattie was the only one wearing her bathing suit and wanted to jump. She got a little scared and then dad ending up jumping in with her in his clothes. She did great! (It was probably 10 ft.) She did awesome.

I was so sad when the weekend came to an end. I wanted so badly to be with my family longer. Its alright, I will see them in 2 1/2 weeks when Landon comes home!!!! I am so excited!
