Because I have class on Monday and Wednesday till late.... I had to set up most of Valentine's Day beforehand. I decorated our family room by setting up a Valentine's picnic. It was super cute. This picture does not do justice to how cute it was. I set our places with our china and huge heart cookies to decorate, as well as a children's love book I got him one year for valentine's day, and candles everywhere.
That night when I got home, all of these chocolate covered strawberries and bananas were decorated and he had started dinner that I had planned. I was tickled. He is the greatest husband.
A long time ago we had sloppy joes and homemade fries for our Valentine's Day dinner. We decided to keep that a tradition and make sloppy joes and garlic fries for dinner if we didn't go out somewhere. We love this tradition because the food is always soooooooo delicious!
Well, our night was perfect!! With candle light and romantic music on in the background.... it was great. Nick is always so great and dances with me in our kitchen ALL THE TIME! My parents do this... to this day, and Nick and I both love that they dance in the kitchen together. he has made an effort to do this with me, without me even asking him. He sure knows how to make me weak in the knees. So, we danced and danced to the lovely music in our family room It was an amazing Valentine's Day.
On another note, my sweet Dad comes up to the city quite a bit now because of work. Whenever he comes down we try and spend at least one fun night with him. He has been here this whole week, so we were able to go up and see him yesterday.
We started our night by going to this amazing authentic Italian pizza place my great friend Mckenna told me about, Sette Bello. It was DELICIOUS! Nick and I have not gone to Italy yet, so I really don't know, but my friend Mckenna lived in Italy for a while and my dad has been to Italy a few times, so I knew it was authentic.
I love how we don't have to have anything planned and our evening always ends up being the greatest adventure! After dinner, we headed up to say hello to one of my great aunts, my dad's aunt, but she wasn't there unfortunately. After we stopped by 7-11 because it seriously has the best hot chocolate EVER!!! I am not kidding. Nick and I have been to many coffee houses and places and no one can beat 7-11's hot chocolate. You just have to know the secret (I will tell you if you ask me). After that, we walked through temple square, then headed back to the hotel to play some games.
Our cousins, Shelly and Chris were in town so before we even made it up into the hotel room, we were laughing and spending time with them. The next thing we know, we are all in the "Just Go With It" movie laughing so hard.
The night came to an end, but we sure seemed to fit tons of stuff in. I just love my dad, and his laugh and personality is contagious!! I am so glad we get to see him so much because he seriously is the best.

I love that mom & dad are such romantics and have instilled that healthy attitude in our heads as well. I love to see them dancing and now can picture you two, such cuties! I love the idea of a picnic indoors; so quaint and fun! I'm sad we didn't get to come down to hang out with you all, I always loves those moments. But I'm glad you got to enjoy papa that's so great!
