My Kind of Scrapbooking and Californians Living in the Snow

***If you LOVE LOVE LOVE scrapbooking the traditional way I would not go any further if you get offended easily****

Ever since Nick and I have been married we have created a memory book at the end of the year and we LOVE IT! I was once told by someone that "I would feel differently about scrapbooking once I got married." Well let me tell ya, NOTHING HAS CHANGED! I still hate the normal type of scrapbooking because:
  1. It takes way to much time
  2. SO MUCH MONEY
  3. I feel like you decorate a whole page and it takes away from what you really are trying to focus on, THE PICTURE

I don't usually go on about this, but let me tell you about my experience. So far... we have three books and they don't take up more than a 1/4 inch of bookshelf space. Everybody loves them and looks at them when they come over to our house. They are really light and so much fun to look at. And finally the best part of all.... It took us 1 1/2 hours to do the entire book, it will be here in 2 days, and we got it on sale for $30! Now that is my kind of scrapbooking!!!! One book we didn't get on sale and it still only cost $60. That is amazing compared to how much money you spend on one scrap book.

I think if you are a avid scrap booker that is awesome. If it is a hobby of yours, GREAT that is totally awesome. I did it a couple times before I got married and hated it! All in all I feel it saves me time and money. That leaves me more time to play and have fun with my hubby and more money to do fun things!!! In the end I have GREAT looking memory books and I am sure you do to.

Our Utah and Snow Experience Thus Far:

The snow is not bad. Everyone seems to ask us if we are hating it. No we are not hating it. We have had so much fun in Utah. We felt like when we lived in Irvine, that was our home. We feel the same way about our home here in Provo, it is our home. I feel extremely blessed because I really feel we make home wherever we go. As long as we have each other that is where our home is.

Now, I do feel that living close to family would be fun, but if we don't end up back in California, that is OK.

Shoveling snow is a new hobby of ours we have picked up. Our cousin Jaime said you have to look at it as "exercise." I believe that to be true. It is kind of fun, until the sky dumps feet of snow on to you and then you get a fun workout. Nick is always so kind to do it most of the time, but wow, it is a workout.

Walking to school. I love walking to school, I still do it even though it is Winter. Walking to school wakes me up because it is cold and it gives you so much time to just think and ponder, the only thing I have learned that you need is to get shoes that will grip, because I slip all over the place with flat shoes. It is pretty funny... until you fall down the stairs because of it. Ouchy.

UTAH IS SO DRY! I have never in my life had to use as much lotion and moisturizer as I do now. WOW it is dry and makes your skin crack and makes you itch all the time. It is interesting.

I will step off my soap box now.

So what do you do instead of scrapbook? I think I need an alternative...out of the pit of despair--I mean scrapbooking! At this I fail.

Leanne, I do the photo books that you create online. It is a hardbound book. Many companies do it like mypublisher, picaboo, snapfish, shutterfly. Anyway, I hope that was helpful.

I agree Jooge. I have never been crafty, and those photo books are BY FAR the BEST invention. :)

I walk to school too, my roommates think I'm crazy, but I think it's crazy to drive a block to park. It's not even enough time to get the car heated up! I want to come over and see your books :) I need your phone # though...Facebook it to me?
